Our History

IVCM was founded by Pastor David Thaveethu Thevanithi in the state of Tamilnadu in Southern India where he had a burden for the needs of people living in rural villages. David not only had a real enthusiasm and vision for the many remote unaided villages that had little hope but also a compassion towards those who live in such rural communities. He saw that the needs were great and care was required for many orphans and widows who were suffering without any practical help. David found a few like minded men as rural pastors who shared the same vision and IVCM was born.

In 2008 a team from the UK visited David and his initial group of pastors and got first hand experience of the various ministries being carried out at that time. The vision was truly caught and shortly after this, plans developed to see how financial and administrative support could be given to this worthy venture.
The UK organisation became a registered charity with a view to raise support and give advice to those in need in similar rural circumstances in India. Since then the work has continued positively blessing many poor and hungry people.

IVCM is experiencing much blessing and growth in the districts where it is currently working and is committed to its ministry in these areas, however, IVCM also realises the importance of seeking the help and outside support of likeminded people who want to share in the vision of this kingdom work. The various social works that have begun need sustaining, so if you feel you are able to help please read on and discover more about what is going on through our ministries.

Around 73% of people in India live in villages, some of which are extremely remote, and as a result many of these places contain millions of people that are often forgotten. Many are living below the poverty line without proper food, accommodation or clothes and do not have access to education or medical facilities. In addition there are many thousands of orphans or semi orphans and abandoned street children.

IVCM is committed to its holistic ministries and is concerned about every aspect people's lives including their social well being. Our primary work at this time is to reach more of the remote villages and provide a vital level of support to poor families as well as encouraging other independent rural village pastors do the same.

Please consider how you could participate and become involved in these exciting opportunities at this time. We at IVCM are passionate about serving others in this ministry opportunity through fellow supporters by pursing and exploring ways of coordinating our efforts as we seek ministry partners.

Please consider joining us in any way you possibly can, as our friend James writes we are called to "look after orphans and widows in their distress". Thank you
