Our History

IVCM was founded by Pastor David Thaveethu Thevanithi in the state of Tamilnadu in Southern India where he had a burden for the needs of people living in rural villages. David not only had a real enthusiasm and vision for evangelising the many unreached villages that still had not heard the gospel message but also a compassion towards those who live in such rural communities. He saw that the needs were great and care was required for many orphans and widows who were suffering without any practical help. David found a few like minded men as rural pastors who shared the same vision and IVCM was born.

In 2008 a team from the UK visited David and his initial group of pastors. The team spent time travelling in the two main regions where the work was concentrated and got first hand experience in the various ministries being carried out at that time. The vision was truly caught and brought back to the UK and subsequently also shared with fellow believers in the USA. Shortly after this, plans developed to see how financial and administrative support could be given to this worthy venture.
The UK organisation became a registered charity with a view to provide support and advice to those in need in similar rural circumstances in India and has since made several mission trips to India participating in many different ministries from evangelism and distributing bibles to running youth, women's and pastors meetings.
